Praga District and Murals
Praga is considered as one of the most hipster places in Europe. London has Hackney and Shoreditch, Warsaw boasts its district. Praga is a great place for your photo shoot & history explorers. This is an area of old brick walls, murals, trendy boutiques and artists workshops. Together we will explore the neighborhood looking for the best spots for a photoshoot. Praga, located on the right bank of the Vistula River, luckily was not destroyed during World War 2. However, many of more than 100-year-old houses are in a very poor condition and newly emerging investments are changing this part of Warsaw rapidly. From the beginning it was a place where Poles, Russians, Jews & Germans lived, traded and prayed. For many years, it enjoyed the reputation of being the most dangerous district of the capital. In modern times, it has attracted independent artists, hipsters, and more recently, tourists who want to experience the unique atmosphere.
During this special Photowalk Experience, we will walk through the historic and authentic streets of Praga. We will see the famous Zabkowska Street, Brzeska Street and the old-style Różycki Bazaar. We will look for characteristic chapels in the backyards of old tenement houses, the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary Magdalene, a rainbow office building and a traditional local band monument. We will also visit the newly opened metro station on Szwedzka Street – an iconic spot for Warsaw photographers and instagrammers. Located nearby old factories, warehouses and houses will take us to the past times. We will sneak into old tenement houses courtyards and I will show where the first Warsaw`s tram was launched in 1866. The walls of old and new buildings are decorated with murals & contemporary street art.
All these elements create an unusual background for a photoshoot and the opportunity to take unforgettable photos of you from a trip to Warsaw. Tour ends in the old Koneser vodka distillery recently transformed to modern shopping and office center with Google Campus and Polish Vodka Museum.

Warsaw Downtown Urban Mix
Warsaw downtown is an unusual place where styles in architecture mix and nothing seems to match here. You will find here old beautiful tenements houses and modern skyscrapers. Warsaw is one of the few European cities with the highest skyscrapers located in downtown. It’s ranked just behind Moscow, Paris, Frankfurt am Main and London.
The Palace of Culture and Science, a gift from a dictator Joseph Stalin, remains the tallest building in Poland and the symbol of Warsaw. You will have a series of photos with this soc-realism and art-deco style skyscraper. Right next to the Warsaw Central Station and the Złote Tarasy Shopping Mall the tallest skyscraper in the European Union is being built – The Varso Tower. As a contrast, we will sneak into courtyards and secret spots inside beautiful secession 19th-century tenement houses.
The center of Warsaw is also a place with Jewish heritage. We will walk along the main street of Warsaw called Jerusalem Avenue. I will show you some parts of the former Jewish Ghetto at Prozna Street (parts of the Ghetto wall remained nearby). Finally, we will get inside the only Warsaw synagogue that survived World War 2. The synagogue was built in neo-romanesque style.
You can say that in the center of Warsaw (Srodmiescie) you will find Jerusalem, Paris, Moscow and New York in one place. I invite you to the unusual Photowalk Experience dedicated to architecture fans, history lovers and those who enjoy the noise of a big city. This is a unique scenery for photos from your trip to modern and old Warsaw. Now it is the only chance to capture the moment of history, the city changing from concrete and gray communist blocks to the tallest glass towers. Photowalk starts at iconic spot Rotunda (modernist style) at Jerusalem Avenue and Marszalkowska Street.

Warsaw Downtown Urban Mix #2
Downtown Warsaw is full of surprises and attractions. That’s why I decided to design the second part of Warsaw Downtown Urban Mix. In this photowalk experience you will see the most beautiful tenements from the early 20th century, the highest skyscraper in pre-war Warsaw, an ideal socialist housing estate, the most important building of communist Poland, hipsters square with fashionable cafes and an architectural pearl – the most beautiful university building in Poland.
Photowalk starts at iconic spot Rotunda at Jerusalem Avenue. We will take the best photo of you with the Palace of Culture and Science in the background. What is next? Former Prudential skyscraper in the Art Deco style, and then the building of the most famous Polish confectioner E. Wedel, which today houses the chocolate cafe. Fancy on a hot chocolate cup take-away? It’s not far from here to the modern luxury Vitkac department store and the palm tree on Aleje Jerozolimskie. Lots of contrasts here – the former seat of the Communist Party and next to it – the capitalist Warsaw Stock Exchange.
We will stop for a moment at Trzech Krzyży Square to see the church of St. Alexander. We will continue our walk along beautfiful streets and reach MDM – a model socialist housing estate. From here, a stone’s throw to Plac Konstytucji and Plac Zbawiciela. The Church of the Savior dominates on the rounded square and in the surrounding tenements we will find many trendy cafes and bistros.
Crème de la crème of our photography tours is the building of the Warsaw University of Technology, where we will spend some time taking many photos of you. Our PhotoWalk experience ends in a trendy new spot in this part of Warsaw – Hala Koszyki.

Our tourists reviews
Jaro provided a personalized, interactive, fun, and very informative tour of Warsaw. He showed me how to take creative pictures of the different sites and as we walked and talked he dynamically tailored the tour to my particular interests while explaining in detail the history of the buildings and sites that we were seeing. Jaro speaks English exceptionally well which was critical for me! He followed up our tour by sending me a complete list of all that we saw as well as a multitude of images that he took while we were out together. I highly recommend Jaro as your tour guide if you are looking for an expert who goes above and beyond and charges far less than he could for this kind of experience.
We booked a walking tour with Jaro and the twist of 'photography’ was something we really were looking forward to. Jaro extended a very warm welcome when we met at the meeting spot. He was very polite, friendly and made us comfortable. He showed us some really great tricks of capturing moments on camera which we appreciate a lot. Not only were we able to learn about Warsaw Old Town and history but also tips and tricks to click pics that can be used on our future trips. He captured some great shots too. He was super efficient to have sent us the edited pics on the same day of the tour along with all the original pics and a list of great apps that we can use to make our pics looks better. We strongly recommend a tour with him if you’re in Warsaw. It’s a guaranteed package of history, learnings on photography and some fun moments!
I absolutely loved this experience. Jaro gave me some useful tips and tricks for photography and we made dozens of photos of me and the city. Jaro was friendly and open-minded. I would highly recommend this experience, especially if you are traveling alone and want to have some good photos from your trip to Warsaw.
Perfect!!! This experience with Jaro was simply wonderful. He’s an excellent photographer and awesome instructor providing you with the best tips. Learning from Jaro was fantastic. I hope that I can take half as great photos in the next part of my journey. Everything about the experience was wonderful. I wouldn’t change a thing! I highly recommend this tour.
I’m so glad I booked this experience. Jaro was amazing – so informative and friendly. He really put me at ease, and I think we developed a great rapport. The photos were exactly what I hoped for and I learnt a few tricks as well. Jaro also showed me a few places like Marie Curie’s house after I expressed an interest. I would give him more than 5 stars if I could.
The photo walk was exactly what we had hoped for! Jaro has extensive knowledge about photography and of Warsaw’s history, those combined powers helped us create unique and personalized photos of the locations we visited. Highly recommended!
It was just a great program by Jaro! Before I met him I only had a few bits of knowledge of Poland. While I joined the program we talked about many things about history and life so on. Now I really feel Poland is a meaningful country for me. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity to experience your country and pictures!
Excellent photoshoot with Jaro! He is super friendly and talented and even turned the photoshoot into a bit of a guided tour. Took me to an awesome antique store too!
